The Georgian parliament has approved early termination of mandates for 49 opposition MPs, Sputnik Georgia reports.
These are representatives of the opposition parties Unity-National Movement, the Coalition for Change, and Strong Georgia, who do not recognize the results of the elections. They themselves requested the termination of their mandates back in December.
Now there are officially 101 members in the Georgian Parliament: 81 from the ruling Georgian Dream, 8 from the People’s Power, which has gone into opposition, and 12 members from the Gakharia For Georgia party, which does not recognize the results of the elections either; however, they have not filed an application for termination of their mandates.
