‘I can’t even afford a chicken coop in a border region with the money from Pashinyan’: Alvard Sargsyan
The people of Artsakh are protesting outside the government building. They are demanding that the Armenian government protect their rights.
“I owned property and land near my house in Artsakh, but now I live here in a rented apartment, and they’re cutting off our rent allowances. I live alone—my relatives help me. What will happen to us tomorrow? We are not being provided with shelter, housing, or jobs—wherever we go, we are deceived. Today I rent an apartment in Yerevan, but who would give me a loan to buy a home? I cannot even buy a chicken coop in a border region with the money they have given. We, the people of Artsakh, have been turned into beggars, into the miserable—we’re forced to come to the government and plead for 40,000 drams just to pay the rent,” said Alvard Sargsyan, who was forcibly displaced from Stepanakert, in an interview with Alpha News.
