‘I wish their country the same democracy’: Bagrat Srbazan on police reforms with American funds

During the press conference, Bagrat Srbazan touched upon the police reforms carried out with American funds and noted that the West should condemn the use of brute police force against peaceful protesters.

“The police reforms are taking place with American funds. Did they expect such reforms? I am sure they did not. They should react to the atrocities and bloodshed that happened on June 12. Because Amnesty International, the Lemkin Institute reacted to what happened.

Various human rights organizations that are neutral reacted as well. They gave the strictest definitions to what exactly happened. I reiterate that, whether they support the movement or not, they should not remain silent about this incident. If they think that this is what democracy is, I wish their country the same democracy,” Bagrat Srbazan said.
