According to the expert on regional issues Karen Igityan, having banned Viktor Krivopuskov, the head of the Russian-Armenian Friendship Society, from entering Armenia, the authorities fulfilled wishes of Turkiye and Azerbaijan.

“Viktor Krivopuskov has pro-Armenian and pro-Artsakh views. During the Artsakh movement, he visited Artsakh as the head of the Soviet militia operational staff. He used to have a neutral position, but then he realized that the Armenian struggle was fair; thus, he became pro-Armenian. He maintained ties with the Armenian side, he was helping us. He understands and realizes that Artsakh can never be part of Azerbaijan, this is probably the reason why he was banned from entering Armenia,” Karen Igityan told Alpha News.

Viktor Krivopuskov was not allowed to cross the border at Zvartnots Airport yesterday, August 24. Earlier, Russian media manager Aram Gabrelyanov, first deputy of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs Konstantin Zatulin, editor-in-chief of the Russia Today TV channel Margarita Simonian and her husband Tigran Keosayan, as well as political expert and professor of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations Andranik Migranyan were recognized as undesirable persons for Armenia. It should also be noted that 6 young people from the Diaspora have been banned from entering Armenia over the past year. All of them have criticized the policy of Armenian authorities.
