In Russia-Armenia relations, no one is denying our alliance — Vladislav Gasumyanov
On the sidelines of the 9th International Scientific and Practical Conference “Russia and the World: Dialogues – 2025”, Vladislav Gasumyanov, Director of the National Research Institute for the Development of Communications, commented on Russia’s role in the international community and the visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to Yerevan. According to the expert, there can be no talk of Russia’s isolation from the world community.
“Despite the collective West’s attempts to isolate Russia, this is not happening. We can look at international organizations such as BRICS, SCO, CSTO, CIS, G20 and many other formats where Russia is represented. The most striking example of this was the Parade dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory. We saw how many leaders of states were there, how many foreign delegations were present. There can be no talk of any isolation,” Gasumyanov said.
Regarding Russia-Armenia relations, Gasumyanov emphasized that Sergey Lavrov’s words reaffirm Armenia’s status as a union state for Russia.
“Yesterday, the Russian Foreign Minister said in his speech that we have moved past a period of misunderstanding. In any relationship, there are difficulties that need to be overcome. The only difference is how to overcome them—with what force, forms and methods. In relations with Armenia, all this is overcome through dialogue. And yesterday’s visit of the Russian Foreign Minister once again demonstrated that the cornerstone of relations is increasing the level of trust between leaders, between peoples, between political elites. The visit also once again proved that we are on the right track. Regarding Russia-Armenia relations, it was clearly stated that no one is denying our alliance or the ties between our nations. The minister said yesterday that Armenia is a union state, our friend. And, it seems to me, we must proceed from this,” Gasumyanov concluded.
