Years ago, the people of Getashen were forcibly displaced, but the enemy’s policy did not seem to change, and all of that has reached our days, Irina Barseghyan-Krpeyan, the historian and the widow of the Armenian national hero Tatul Krpeyan, told Alpha News.

“I came to Los Angeles to present my books, which were published in Armenian in 2016 and in English in 2019. These books contain full information that you will not find anywhere else. The books tell about the self-defense of the Getashen sub-region and the history of the Armenian four-year national liberation struggle until Tatul Krpeyan joined with his eight-month struggle. However, the people of Getashen were forcibly displaced, five heroes were killed, and the number of casualties among the civilian population reached three dozen. It seems that these actions have not finished. They continued until the 44-day war in 2020,” Krpeyan said.

According to her, the trinity of Armenia, the Diaspora, and Artsakh Armenians must fight for their homeland and victory.

“The key to our victory is the unity of our people. We must unite and face this great challenge, pushing away all the disasters that may await us. Everything is transient, but the homeland is permanent. We must do everything for our homeland to be able to preserve this one piece and become strong. The trinity of Armenia, the Diaspora, and Artsakh Armenians must fight for their homeland and overcome everything together,” Krpeyan concluded.
