Speaking with Alpha News, ARF-D representative Sahak Chalikian noted that the Bulgarian authorities did not understand the essence of the Artsakh issue.
“I think that the world, especially the Bulgarian regime, did not understand the Artsakh problem since the problem of Armenian Artsakh was isolated. They did not dare take a tougher stance against Azerbaijan, even though they have long had an internal conviction on this issue. It is because of the internal unstable situation in the Bulgarian government and the tedious fuss around the elections that we cannot turn to political figures,” Chalikian noted.
He also noted that the Armenian community of Bulgaria sent aid to Armenia.
“We periodically meet members of the Bulgarian parliament and try to convince them that they should express an official position. Various works were carried out so that Bulgaria, being a small country, could send modest financial assistance to Armenia. The Armenian Diaspora is always ready to help,” our interlocutor concluded.
