The situation in Aleppo has become calmer, there are no more problems with food and water, editor of Aleppo’s Kantsasar weekly Zarmig Boghikian told Alpha News.
“Over the past few days, the situation in Aleppo and Syria in general has become calmer. People have started going to work, Armenian schools have also reopened since yesterday, and students are attending school as usual. The problems with food have ended; there was a problem with water for a week since the reservoir was damaged during the clashes, but it was repaired. I believe that by the evening there will be water in all areas of Aleppo. The church has also reopened. On Sunday, church services were held as usual.
On December 16, the Armenian Foreign Ministry announced that the diplomatic mission had resumed its work in Syria and the hotline continues to operate. Those who have problems with their passports can apply again,” Boghikian said.
At the same time, she stressed that people should remain vigilant and wait for the election of a new government.
“At the moment, we are in a state of waiting. The transitional government is already functioning, officials are being called to return to their work so that state bodies can work. We must wait until a new government is elected and the Constitution is changed. However, we should be vigilant because Israeli planes are flying in the sky. People are afraid and do not know what their target might be,” Boghikian concluded.
