The Public Council of Artsakh has issued a statement.

“The new composition of the Public Council of Artsakh was formed under rather unusual circumstances, during a period of evident internal and external challenges.

🔷 Nevertheless, it was established to help unite the people forcibly deported from Artsakh, to give voice to the various issues they face, and to support the work of state structures in exile.

🔷 In the current political and moral-psychological climate — where our rights and identity are at stake, where the erasure of values is being imposed and propaganda aimed at wiping out historical memory is relentlessly intensified, a response naturally becomes inevitable.

🔷 From this starting point, the Public Council of Artsakh calls on the Armenians of Artsakh to unite, and appeals to mother Armenia and the Diaspora for solidarity.

🔷 After the Artsakh issue has been reduced to irreversible limits and the Homeland has been lost, any shift away from national moral landmarks risks consequences that cannot be undone.

🔷 With a humiliated past and a fear-filled present, all hopes for the future are in vain. Discussions about the rights of the people of Artsakh are in no way confrontational, they are grounded in internationally recognized principles and norms.

🔷 History and common sense suggest that success can only be achieved through loyalty and courage.

🔷 The Public Council of Artsakh is fully aware of the price of peace.

🔷 The citizens of Artsakh, who have lived through the horrors of war firsthand, cannot be unaware of the context of unfolding events, yet their very existence cannot be a source of internal division.

🔷 However the Karabakh movement may be dismissed, however the Declaration of Independence, the foundational document of the state, may be pitted against present-day realities, the people of Artsakh remain “on the conscience of the world,” and their history, struggles, rights, and demands have not gone anywhere.

🔷 Therefore, in the absence of full dialogue with the Government of the Republic of Armenia, the Public Council of Artsakh, placing public solidarity as its priority, opens its doors to dialogue with all respected individuals who care about Artsakh and its people, in the hope and belief that together we can build a worthy future,” the statement reads.
