The decision on a possible withdrawal of Armenia from the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) must be made by the country’s leadership or its people. This was stated by Taalbek Masadykov, CSTO Secretary General, following a meeting of the Defense Ministers’ Council of the organization’s member states.

“I think this decision will be made by the people of Armenia and the leadership of Armenia,” Masadykov said.

He also added that the question of Armenia’s withdrawal from the CSTO was not discussed at the meeting of the Defense Ministers’ Council of the organization’s member states, and that it is a political matter.
