The Netherlands will provide financial assistance to Armenia and Azerbaijan for efforts to search for missing persons. This was announced in Yerevan today by Tom Berendsen, Foreign Minister of the Netherlands.
According to Berendsen, the Netherlands welcomes the two countries’ steps toward normalizing relations. “I welcome Armenia’s steps aimed at establishing peace in the region. It is very important that the process concludes with the signing of a peace document,” Berendsen said, pledging support in the form of new financial assistance to the two countries for the search for missing persons.
He welcomed the Armenian people’s decision to move toward peace and also endorsed the aspiration for closer cooperation with the EU.
