‘I didn’t believe that anyone would survive’: Artsakh exodus #7

It was only three weeks ago when Lilit Sargsyan was in Artsakh and worked as the vice director of the School of Architectural Art.
“We were very close to the enemy. It was as if the shells were falling right next to us. We heard those sounds, as if we were at the forefront,” Lilit told Alpha News.
According to Lilit, at the very first explosion, she already understood that the situation was much more serious.
Artsakh did not have much strength to defend itself against the enemy, she says regretfully.
She didn’t even believe that anyone would survive.
During the first enemy strike, Lilit was at work and went down to the basement, but she could not stay long and went home after her mother, but she was not there.
Lilit crossed the Lachin corridor, accompanied by ‘smiles’ of the enemy at the Azerbaijani patrol point.
She brought with her several paintings, a camera that captured the last fall of their yard in Chartar, and the Bible.
But her story was left behind in Artsakh, a story that Lilit tells now, keeping her anxiety at bay.
