“Mold dies in the light”: Volodin comments on Pashinyan’s statement about “compensating for every spoiled pepper”

Mold dies in the light. The statement by Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of Armenia, that he would “pay for every spoiled pepper” that is not exported to Russia because of restrictions clearly demonstrates this. This was written on social media by Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
“Pashinyan is using the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) to move toward the European Union (EU). He is trying to solve all of his problems at the expense of the EAEU, primarily, Russia. He is NOT openly telling the public about the move toward the EU.
He is concealing from the citizens of Armenia what the country’s withdrawal from the EAEU would cost, namely:
- gas prices for residents would increase almost fourfold;
- cross-border money transfers to Armenia from Russia, which currently amount to nearly $4 billion per year (2/3 OF ALL TRANSFERS), would be sharply reduced;
- migration privileges for entry into Russia would be revoked, and employment would only be possible through work permits;
- supplies of flowers, berries, fruits, vegetables (INCLUDING PEPPERS), fish, alcohol, and mineral water from Armenia to our country would be suspended.
The same thing happened in Ukraine. When the decision was made to integrate with the EU, one thing was promised, including development prospects. In reality, Ukrainian agricultural products were, in essence, never allowed onto European markets.
Instead, strict and unfavorable tariff quotas were imposed on them.
The same awaits Armenia. Pashinyan has likely taken on a personal commitment to bring Armenia into the EU and is acting accordingly.
At the same time, he is trying to shift all the costs of accession onto the EAEU and Russia. Clearly, he is not concerned about the fate of the Armenian people or Armenia’s statehood. In this case, he believes this approach will help him retain personal power.
THE PRICE WILL BE HIGH…,” Volodin noted.
