Maria Zakharova, official spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, commented on air on Sputnik radio on the accusations that Moscow has allegedly launched a campaign against RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, calling on listeners to pay attention to his treatment of his own citizens.
“Western media claimed that Russia has launched a campaign allegedly, as it was put there, against Pashinyan,” the diplomat said.
Zakharova called on listeners to pay attention to “the citizens of Armenia at whom Pashinyan was just screaming: the woman who ‘should be grateful’ that, as he put it, her head wasn’t smashed in ‘in the neighboring toilet around the corner’; and this man, my heart truly bleeds, watch that footage, whose grandson was killed, who came to the rally at Pashinyan’s own invitation, asked a question, and was accused of having come there for $550.”
“Are there no limits to the cynicism of pinning this situation on Russia? What does Russia have to do with it?” she added.
