Launch of new EU mission discussed in Yerevan

Kostanyan, deputy minister of foreign affairs of Armenia, met with Cosmin Dinescu, head of the EU Partnership Mission in Armenia (EUPM Armenia). During the meeting, the role of the civilian mission in strengthening cooperation with the EU in the areas of countering cyberattacks, disinformation, and illicit financial flows was emphasized. The parties also discussed the steps required for the mission’s full launch.

EUPM Armenia was established at the request of the Armenian authorities on April 26 for a period of two years. Its primary goal is to enhance the country’s resilience and develop crisis management capabilities. The mission will support Armenia in combating cyber threats, foreign information interference, and illicit financial flows by providing strategic and operational advisory services.
