Emmanuel Tjeknavorian appointed Milan Symphony Orchestra’s new music director
Austrian violinist and conductor of Armenian origin, Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, was appointed as the new music director of the Milan Symphony Orchestra, the orchestra announced on Facebook.
A press conference of the newly appointed director will be held at the Milan Auditorium on January 25.
Emmanuel is the son of Iranian-Armenian composer and conductor Loris Tjeknavorian.
Despite his young age, Emmanuel Tjeknavorian is already one of the great artistic personalities of his generation.
In 2012, Emmanuel represented Austria at the Eurovision Young Musicians contest.
He was also the first Austrian to make it to the final round in the history of the Fritz Kreisler Competition in September 2014.
