Fraud victim Yevgine Hovsepyan claims that two loans totaling 2 million AMD were issued in her name at IDBank—one with a six-month term and the other extending until 2027. According to Yevgine, the loan was arranged on December 1, 2024.
“A few days later, I received an email via Gmail informing that a loan had been issued in my name. The AMD 550,000 loan is a Rocket Line for online purchases. If a bank opens a line of credit but a citizen does not use it, why is this being processed as a loan? Why isn’t proper oversight in place to prevent fraudsters from taking out loans at the highest interest rates?” said Yevgine Hovsepyan.
She demands to cancel the credit obligations imposed on her. The Investigative Committee initiated criminal proceedings on this case. According to Yevgine, the loan in her name has not yet been frozen.
It is worth noting that victims of bank fraud held a protest today in front of the Central Bank. They argued that the Central Bank chairman’s statement about the freezing of fraud victims’ loans was false. Mher Karagozyan, head of the Public Control NGO, suggested that the chairman’s statement may be an attempt to mislead the public.
