The authorities fear they will suffer a defeat in Yerevan in the parliamentary elections. This was stated live on Alpha News by Karen Kocharyan, a political technologist. According to him, during meetings with people, Pashinyan can see that reality is quite different. In the regions, an atmosphere of fear is felt more strongly, whereas in the capital people express their views more freely, and the number of opposition-minded citizens there is significantly higher.

Commenting on the May 18 incident in the Arabkir administrative district between Nikol Pashinyan and a resident of Artsakh, Kocharyan noted that the Prime Minister is “openly sowing hatred toward Artsakh residents,” and that the same could happen in the future with regard to residents of Syunik and Tavush.

Speaking about the opposition’s immediate priorities, the political technologist stressed the need for full-scale participation of Armenian citizens in the elections.

“Every day of the opposition forces’ election campaign must begin with a single appeal to citizens, which is to participate in the elections. Today there is one overriding task: to ensure high voter turnout, and the higher it is, the less chance the authorities have of being re-elected,” Kocharyan said.
