The Feast of the Holy Translators was celebrated in the village of Nor-Luys in Sochi, Russia.

Armenia is the only country where the holiday of translators is celebrated. It is dedicated to the Archimandrites who translated the Bible: St. Mesrop Mashtots and St. Sahak Partev, as well as Yeghishe, Movses Kertogh, philosopher David the Invincible, Grigor Narekatsi, and Nerses the Graceful.

The Armenian Apostolic Church has canonized Bible translators, because, thanks to their efforts and painstaking work, the Armenian people were able to read the Holy Bible in their native language.

The Holy Translators laid the foundations of Armenian writing and literature. They significantly contributed to the spiritual and cultural awakening of Armenia and the Armenian nation.

The holiday is celebrated every year on the second Saturday of October.
