The second screening of “The Price for Fake Peace” will take place at the Nikol Aghbalian Center in Los Angeles. Alpha News spoke with the film’s producer, Harutyun Harutyunyan.

According to Harutyunyan, he did not expect the film to achieve such success.

“The film has received numerous awards. I never expected it to gain international recognition. We participated in international film festivals, we have 10 prizes—five of which are victory trophies,” said the producer.

It should be noted that “The Price for Fake Peace” was created as a wake-up call for Armenians. Historical facts show that 100 years ago, events occurred with striking accuracy that led to thousands of casualties and territorial losses. The root of these tragedies lies in the gullibility, naivety, and carelessness of the Armenian people—their shortsightedness in trusting the Turks despite enduring numerous trials.

“The film is both a documentary and an investigation. At the end of the film, an answer is given as to why this happened,” Harutyunyan added.

Referring to the Armenian authorities’ campaign against the church, the film’s producer said:

“This movement is not against one person, the Catholicos, but a means to disrespect and destroy the Armenian Apostolic Church. Before our premiere in January, I met with His Holiness and expressed concern that all state institutions in Armenia had been destroyed, and I feared the Armenian Apostolic Church would be next. His Holiness explained very calmly that he did not believe the church would be included in these programs, since the church is independent. However, just months later, we saw the church become a target. There are loud claims on social media that no one has managed to demolish the 1,700-year-old church and that it will stand firm. He has already destroyed 5,000-year-old Artsakh—what would stop him from destroying a 1,700-year-old church as well?”
