The Armenian Patriarchate recently canceled the deal around the Cows’ Garden. Instead of giving a legitimate response to the termination of the deal, the developers tried to carry out construction in the estate and completely ignored the legitimate position of the Patriarchate on this issue, choosing instead the tactics of provocation.

Alpha News spoke live with the founder of the Save the ARQ movement, Sedrak Palyan, who briefed on the situation.

“After receiving the letter, they tried to destroy the wall, and to some extent they succeeded, but the community, together with the clergy and the patriarchate, stopped them. A few days later, they started attacking us together with armed settlers and dogs, counting on the fact that the community is peaceful and timid. We proved to them that the Armenian community of Jerusalem is strong and will defend its land,” Palyan said.
According to him, the Jerusalem police also made attempts to illegally enter the territory but failed.

“We decided to come to the Cows’ Garden estate and restore our presence. During these two days, the Jerusalem police tried to illegally invade the territory. Why is it illegal? Because there was no court order for permission to enter. And we, together with the entire Armenian community, stopped them and did not allow them to invade our territory,” Palyan said.
