Speaking with Alpha News, Alexander Dudchak, a political scientist and leading researcher at the Institute of CIS Countries, commented on Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk’s statement that the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the European Union (EU) are incompatible.

According to the expert, Overchuk’s statement about the incompatibility of the EAEU and the EU is a warning for Armenia.

“Overchuk’s statement is absolutely fair. It is a reminder and a warning, but it is unlikely that Yerevan’s current anti-national and corrupt government will listen to it. The authorities are doing their job. They are moving towards a goal that was not set by the Armenian people. Nobody is going to accept Armenia into the European Union. But since this is supposedly such a desirable goal, Armenia will be turned into God knows what on the way to achieving it. It will be required to fulfill not only economic but also political demands, for example, demands for the adoption of all these current European modern values. Armenians will have to go to gay pride parades in Yerevan. This is an integral part of European integration, you can’t go anywhere without it,” Dudchak said.

According to the expert, they will fool the Armenian people until they turn it into a tool against Russia.

“It is sad to watch the experiment that is being conducted on Armenia. This is not the first country to go through this. Is it really difficult to learn from other people’s mistakes? Those who are pulling Armenia into the abyss along the Ukrainian path are taking advantage of this.

Despite the fact that Pashinyan is leading the country down the wrong path, he still remains in power.
Calculations and assessments of the possible results of the movement toward European integration will not appear in the media. So they will continue to fool the Armenian people until they turn it into another tool against Russia. The West’s only goal is to turn Armenia into another anti-Russia rather than bring prosperity to the Armenian people, economic development, and an increase in living standards,” Dudchak noted.

“In the end, Armenia will not go anywhere, it will not be accepted into the European Union, but it will move away from Russia and will be left with nothing,” Dudchak concluded.
