What else would Baku dream of seeing in Armenia that Pashinyan has not yet provided?

One of the main questions that can be asked everywhere in today’s Armenia is this: what else would Baku dream of seeing in Armenia that Nikol Pashinyan has not yet provided? This is not an emotional inquiry but a rational one. Recent events over the past 2–3 days highlight the relevance and validity of this issue. Here’s what has unfolded in Armenia during this time:

1. Not a single representative of the country’s political authorities attended the festive liturgy celebrating the holy Easter holiday, which once again demonstrated the gap between the secular and spiritual authorities of the country. Isn’t this precisely what Turkey and Azerbaijan want to see in Armenia?

2. Pashinyan again criticized the current and previous constitutions of Armenia, claiming that the referendums allegedly failed to reflect the will of the people. He believes that there should be an “organic link” between the existing legal order and the people, which implies further dismantling of the Armenian legal system. Isn’t this precisely what Turkey and Azerbaijan want to see in Armenia?

3. The Holy Fire appears in the Cupola in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, which is built over the site where Jesus Christ was crucified, buried and resurrected. On the eve of the Easter service, the flag of Artsakh was unfurled on the balcony of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, after which the authorities began organized harassment against the Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia, Aram I. In particular, Pashinyan’s deputy chief of staff, Taron Chakhoyan, stated that by his actions (by the very mention of Artsakh), the Catholicos allegedly provokes war.

The “War Party” continues to intimidate the people with war, and this despite the fact that it was they who brought war and defeat to Armenia. And this is not a political assessment, but a simple calendar fact: in 2020, Armenia was under Pashinyan’s leadership. A calendar cannot be denied. Nevertheless, the people of Armenia continue to be intimidated. Isn’t this precisely what Turkey and Azerbaijan want to see in Armenia?

And yet, what else would Baku dream of seeing in Armenia that Nikol Pashinyan has not yet provided?

The answer is clear: Baku would prefer not to see a second Armenian state next to it. If this were to happen, it would only be a temporary peace—a graveyard peace—the same kind of peace that prevails in Armenian Artsakh today.

Think about it.…
