Gegham Stepanyan: Our people are prudent enough to distinguish between the real agenda and the fake one

“I receive information that different circles and different settlements are saying that if there are elections tomorrow, there is a possibility of starting military operations. It is clear that this danger has always accompanied us and it is absurd to associate it with elections or not,” Gegham Stepanyan, secretary of the Democratic Party of Artsakh faction, said live on Alpha News.

“The social condition of the people made them more irritable. Still, under such circumstances, our people have enough prudence to distinguish between the real agenda and the fake one. According to the information received, the court proceedings ended yesterday and there is still a chance to nominate a candidate. The claim was satisfied, why was the opportunity to nominate a candidate not used? In order to find the answer, we have to go back to the rally organized on May 14, when, as reported, our population did not provide a sufficient number of people to the rally, which, I believe, caused disappointment. I think the tendency is to find out what mood the society has and if it is possible to overthrow the elections, so that the problem of providing or not providing a reference at the next stage will be neutralized for them,” Gegham Stepanyan said.

According to him, if we miss the opportunity of election, it will have much worse consequences.

“If we miss the opportunity to elect, it will lead to much worse consequences,” he said.
