Since 2021, the Azerbaijani army is on the sovereign territory of Armenia and has no intention of leaving there, Harut Sassounian, the editor and publisher of the California Courier, told Alpha News.

“For many years now, Pashinyan has been saying that we need to find common ground with Azerbaijan, sign a peace treaty, and recognize Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan. He deceives the people when he says that if we return Artsakh to Azerbaijan, the Armenians will live under a peaceful sky. But now we see that since 2021, the Azerbaijani army has been within the borders of Armenia, and two weeks ago, Aliyev himself said that his army is not going to leave our borders. It is a lie that we will achieve peace by surrendering lands. This is a lie; there will be no peace and the appetite of the Azerbaijanis will increase even more. They will make more demands. Pashinyan, being a weak and cowardly leader, will cede everything,” Sassounian said.

According to him, changing the Constitution is another anti-national step by Pashinyan.

“As for the constitutional amendments, I must say that this is another anti-national step by Pashinyan. He started all this a long time ago. He started with Mount Ararat, then switched to the anthem and the coat of arms, and now it is the turn of the Armenian history textbook and the Constitution. If we allow these last two points to change, Azerbaijan’s demands will never stop. Aliyev is not a fool. He sees that in front of him is a weak person who is ready to give up everything. Aliyev is taking advantage of his weakness,” Sassounian concluded.
