The release of the nationalist Ogün Samast, who assassinated Hrant Dink, is very suspicious, Turkologist Tiran Lokmagyozyan told Alpha News, trying to explain what message the Turkish authorities are sending by releasing him.

“Attempts were made to release Samast earlier, but the applications were rejected twice. This time, it is unclear why it happened. He was released for “good behavior”, but if you do some research, you will see that the opposite happened: his sentence was increased by 5 years and several months for bad behavior,” Lokmagyozyan said.

According to the Turkologist, in this case, the question arises as to what kind of “good behavior” he was released for.

“He attacked police officers, they also say that he got a knife and threatened the prison guard. All this is very suspicious, and the question arises as to what kind of “good behavior” he was released for. We cannot say what Turkiye’s goal was by releasing him, but we clearly know that there is a hidden message behind all this,” Lokmagyozyan stressed.
