Armenia’s involvement in the International Criminal Court (ICC) causes direct damage to Armenian-Russian relations, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said in a press briefing on Wednesday.
According to Zakharova, the ICC has not helped to solve any conflict it has tried to deal with.
“At the same time, direct violations of international law, basic standards of justice and simple common sense in its record are more than enough,” Zakharova said.
“Yerevan’s accession to the so-called Rome Statute amid quasi-warrants issued in The Hague for the arrest of a number of Russian officials causes direct damage to Armenian-Russian relations. Moreover, not only symbolically, but also quite practically,” the diplomat noted.
